unbelievably, seats still available

International artist Yvan Genest will animate a weeklong
painting workshop entitled Magic Special Effects at Hacienda
Mosaico from March 29 to April 4. Magic Special Effects has
been designed to accommodate all skill levels, from novice
to professional. The intention is to provide an opportunity for
participants to improve their creativity while exploring the infinite
world of special effects, regardless of their painting style. Explore
new and exciting techniques while experimenting with a variety of
painting instruments from brushes to innovative printing objects.
Participants will learn new and exciting techniques and experiment
fabulous effects that will provide the perfect opportunity to explore
and diversify their artistic expression
Although it is helpful to have previous acrylic painting
experience, this is not a requirement. Genest suggests participants
bring their own supplies including brushes, acrylic tubes and
medium gels. Other materials are included in the workshop
package. For an additional fee, supplies can be purchased on site
with prior arrangement. Those who do not require lodging have
to bring the required supplies.
Yvan Genest has been practicing and exploring several mediums
from watercolor to digital art, for the last thirty years and has run
many workshops in Canada, France and Mexico.
New workshop at Hacienda Mosaico.

He has worked and exhibited in Puerto Vallarta for over twelve
years, becoming one of the most recognized artists of the city’s
artistic scene. Devoted to his art and to the exploration of various
mediums, acrylic remains his main land of expression.
He is represented locally by Galleria Dante. For any questions
about this workshop, please contact Yvan directly: workshop@
yvangenest.com.
Hacienda Mosaico has been hosting myriad artist retreats and
workshops for several years. Designed as a beautiful, artful,
tropical environment, the hacienda is offering an accessible place
for individuals and groups to develop and execute ideas in a noncompetitive
atmosphere. This is a place for art and ideas, a creative
and comfortable environment for accessing fresh images and ideas
with rarified group energy.

surprise visit

This week I had the unexpected pleasure of a surprise visit and the good company of the esteemed painter, Jason Wheatley. He stopped in on his way to Manzanillo, where for the next several weeks he will be focusing on new works. If you are not familiar with Jason's work, you should be. If you would be interested in a workshop with Jason, please let me know....he just may share his magical thinking with us.

Linda and Opie O'Brien

Riana at work

Hi everyone! I finally surrender to blogging! This is my very first entry and this is the lovely Riana paving her way to return. She has begun another fabulous creature/garden art statue/bench that will eventually accompany 'The Three White Chicks' that she completed two years ago.
